- I have been writing songs now since 2001. I started much later than most people, years years later and am trying to catch up. I started out by having composition lessons, then singing lessons, then piano lessons. I never thought that I could perform and never had performance in mind, though to date I have managed to do 3 25 minute sets, which though small achievement for some, means something to me. I would though I guess prefer to spend more time writing than performing and would ultimately like my songs/music to appear in films. They say it is really really hard and I know there are so many people out there doing the same thing, you only have to walk down the street and you are bound to catch a glimpse of someone sauntering along with a guitar on their backs. I wish keyboards were that easy to carry. Anyway I have decided to write a blog perhaps a weekly one at first, though this may vary, to document my progress and hopefully some of you out there may provide some inspiration and help along the way and hopefully I may provide some likewise. So I look forward to sharing with you my journey and hopefully it will be an inpiring, happy, joyous and of course fun time for all of us. Nickie
